The International Space Science Institute ISSI, located at Hallerstrasse 6, 3012 Bern, Switzerland, offers to

apps for online collaboration (referred to as ISSI Online Collaboration Apps in the following). These apps are intended for ISSI-registered users only. Once an ISSI activity has been approved for implementation, access is granted by the ISSI IT administrators with whom users need to register. The purpose of the ISSI Online Collaboration Apps is to facilitate collaboration on scientific papers, books and other documents directly relevant to activities or projects supported by ISSI. Users are not allowed to create or store private documents or content with other purposes. After completion of an ISSI activity/project, user accounts will be closed by the ISSI Administrators. The relevant team leaders or conveners will be notified well in advance, and have the responsibility of informing all registered users associated with their activity about the imminent closure of user accounts.

Security and Privacy

The ISSI Online Collaboration Apps includes the following resources: ISSI is responsible for installing, maintaining and updating these resources. All the software installations and the user files are stored on ISSI servers located in Bern, Switzerland. Regular backups of the data will be made on the ISSI servers, exept all files stored in Jupyter individual workspaces ar NOT backuped. However, as a precautionary measure, we strongly recommended that users keep local backup copies of important data on their personal computers. ISSI does not use third-party analytics tools on its website or server. Browser Cookies are used and should be activated to ensure the full functionality of the ISSI Online Collaboration Apps. Users are solely responsible for their conduct, the content of their files, and communications with others while using the services. Users must ensure that they have the right or permission needed to use the ISSI Online Collaboration Apps and comply with these Terms. ISSI reserves the right to review public content on its servers for compliance with its Terms of Service, but users acknowledge that ISSI has no obligation to review or monitor any information provided or stored by users on its servers. ISSI cannot be held responsible for the accuracy, completeness, appropriateness or legality of the data, nor of user posts, or any other information users provide or may be able to access using the ISSI Online Collaboration Apps. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that all material is correctly referenced, and that it complies with copyright regulations.

ISSI Online Collaboration Apps are provided “AS-IS”

Though ISSI intends to provide the best possible service, ISSI cannot guarantee that all parts of the service will be free of errors or secure at all times. As such, the services are provided “as is” and “as available”. They may be used at the user’s own risk, without any express, implied, statutory or other warranty or condition of any kind. Without limiting the foregoing, ISSI disclaims any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, freedom from errors and non-infringement. ISSI cannot be held responsible for any harm to a user’s computer systems, loss or corruption of data, or other harm that results from access to or use of the services. By accessing or otherwise using any part of the ISSI Online Collaboration Apps, including registering an account, users acknowledge their agreement to these Terms. Users may use the services only in compliance with these Terms. The services may change over time as we refine and add more features. We may stop, suspend, or modify the ISSI Online Collaboration Apps at any time without prior notice to users, although ISSI recognizes the importance of the work of all users and will do its best to notify them in advance. ISSI reserves the right to remove any content from its servers.
